These people seeking election or reelection are known as District Directors of the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District. The District encompasses Rappahannock, Orange, Madison and Greene counties as well as Culpeper. Every three years, in the general election in November, each county is given the privilege of electing two of its citizens to represent them on this conservation board.
The CSWCDds a way for all county citizens to have a voice in resource and conservation planning by attending the district meetings, communicating their concerns and participating in district programs.
