Mr. Slowik, who is a much soughtafter lecturer, faculty member of the University of Maryland, and artistic director for the Oberlin Conservatory's Baoque Performance Institute, begins the afternoon with a sketch of Schubert's life and the place of the string quartet in his creative output.
