Ford Expedition SUV The rear-drive Aerostar van gets a new 5-speed automatic (when teamed up with the 4.0 litre V-6), and the front wheel drive Windstar van wil offer an extended drivers' door in place of a sliding left-rear door. Full-size Econolines and Club Wagons will be available with a V-10 engine, and the standard 4.2 litre V-6 will replace the venerable 300-cu.in. 1-6 as the base engine. There were refinements to the interiors of these vans, and tinted glass is now standard on all rear windows. Mercury Division The '97 Mercury Tracer, like the Escort, gets new body styling and a more powerfurl 4-cylinder engine, „ Likewise, the mid-size Mystique gets new trim and color choices for '97.
