Ham and Turkey Dinner Planned

The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will hold a benefit ham and turkey dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2. All proceeds will benefit the fire department. For more information call Sheila Scott at 937-4357.

Walk-in Clinics Planned

Walk-in Clinics for the Rappahannock County Health Department for November include Nov. 4 at 8:30-11 a.m.; Nov. 12 at 1-3 p.m. (flue only) and Nov. 18 at 8:30-11 a.m.

Hunter's Breakfast Buffet

You are invited to enjoy a warm, hearty breakfast to benefit the Washington Volunteer Fire Department with a donation of $7 for adults/$3 for children. You will have your choice of made-to-order eggs or omelets, pancakes, homeffies, grits, homemade applesauce, bacon, sausage, toast, juice and coffee. "Please join us on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 7:30 to 11 a.m. at the Washington Fire Hall," said an organizer.

Alumni Tournament Planned

The Rappahannock County High School Athletic Department will sponsor the 8th Annual Alumni Basketball Tournament on Friday, November 29th and Saturday, November 30th at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

This year we would like to see if there is enough interest to have two women's teams. Any female who graduated from Rappahannock County High School and is interested in playing in the Alumni Tournament on Saturday evening should contact Kelly Settle at 987-8575 by Friday, Nov. 8. Any male who has graduated from Rappahannock County High School and is interested in playing the alumni tournament should call Kelly Settle at 987-8575 by Friday, Nov. 15.

Registration fee will be $10 which will include a t-shirt or tank top. Fees are due by Friday, Nov. 15.

D.A.R.E. Parent Program

The Rappahannock County Sheriffs Office is sponsoring a D.A.R.E. Parent Program. There will be six two hour sessions on the following topics: Communication, Substance Abuse Prevention and Intervention, Youth Pressures/Media Influences, Violence/Gang Activity, and a panel session with community leaders.

The sessions will be held on six consecutive Tuesday evenings beginning Nov. 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Elementary School. These classes will be conducted by Capt. Jeff Brown.

Registration forms are available at the Sheriffs Office. Advance registration- is required since babysitting, refreshments, etc. will be provided. There is no cost. This program is open to all Rappahannock parents. For further information, please call the Sheriffs Office at 675-3331.
