Dr. Eve Bargmann will join Commonwealth Medical Associates irr November. A board certified internist, Dr. Bargmann has been a resident of Nethers, Virginia, for six years while she continued to practice in Washington, D.C., so she feels that she is really coming home to practice.
"I love the mountains — I grew up near the mountains of Virginia and North Carolina — and this is my home now," stated Bargmann.
Dr. Bargmann also has a deep love for people. "I chose primary care because I enjoy takirig care of whole people in their families and their communities."
This calling is evident throughout Bargmann's career, along with serving on the board, she worked full-time for the Zacchaeus Free Medical Clinic in Washington for two years and still goes there weekly with her medical students and residents. She has been a consultant to community health projects in Washington, El Paso, Texas, and Brazil. She served on the boards of Health Care for the Homeless and the Archdiocesan Health Care Network.
Last April Bargmann traveled to Estonia to speak at a medical school about the delivery of primary care. This month she will visit the Czech Republic through George Washington University to discuss primary care for older people.
