United Way's executive director. "The emerging trends are shifting responsibilities from government to communities. The downsizing of businesses and the increase of families holding many jobs to survive grows each day. The community as a whole, everyone, needs to understand that agencies funded by Piedmont United Way are local agencies assisting local people. I believe the community is the joint sharing of the locality where you live. When people understand they are a part of the whole and that whatever impacts their community impacts them, maybe, just maybe, more people will add their dollars to the only fund in the five counties that meets the health and human needs of many," reflects Roberts.
"Piedmont United Way is about a warm feeling of satisfaction a person gains from going beyond self to assure that everyone has shelter, food and a place to call when there is a crisis," Roberts added. She believes everyone should support their local Piedmont United Way. you never know when someone you know and care for may need the services.
