CHRYSLER CORPORATION
Chrysler Division
A model sure to be popular in our area is the 4-wheel drive Chrysler Town & Country mini-van, which now comes with traction control on the front drive train. It combines the roominess of a van with the snow-and-mud capabilities of a sport utility.
The flashy Sebring gets optional 17inch wheels, and the, convertible is available with the 2.4 litre four cylinder enge used in the Cirrus.
The roomy LHS is back, officially replacing the venerable New Yorker.
Dodge Division
The Dodge line-up also has numerous changes for '97.
The compact Neon comes with optional disc brakes on all four wheels, and interiors can be had with colorful 'Tango" fabrics.
The base model Avenger can now be ordered with a 163-hp 2.5 litre V-6 engine. All models come with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
For the true sports enthusiast, the new Viper RT/10 comes with a better-sealing soft top. The new Viper GTS coupe is in a class by itself.
In the Dodge truck line, the mid-size Dakota grows two inches wider, getting a new body style reminiscent of the larger Ram pickups. The power from the optional 5.2 litre V-8 has been increased to 230-h.p.
