On Oct. 8, the Piedmont United Way kicked off it's annual campaign with a bang. At the helm is James C. Lee, General Campaign Chair; Viki Hochschwender,* Culpeper county Chair; Benny Werner, Fauquier County Chair; Jim Walker, Madison County Chair; Ray Hugo, Orange County Chair, and Donna Foster as Rappahannock County Chair. These volunteers are striving to make this the best campaign ever. '
This year's campaign started out with a mailing of 31,000 letters and brochures to households in all five counties "this is a very important piece of mail" stated Lee. "It's about solicitation, to increase our contributions; community awareness of Piedmont United Way, how Piedmont United Way impacts the residents in the Piedmont area and the outcome of the contributors' investment to the community." Last year Piedmont United Way impacted in a positive way, one out of five individual sin the five counties. Add families to that number and the numbers affirm that giving to United Way does work right here at home.
