"Physicians all over the world are interested iri the care of people in their communities," stated Dr. Bargmann. "What they are looking for is good evidence-based primary care. I feel that teaching and patient care are the basics. Being a good doctor is helping people learn to take better care of themselves.’7Since

1988, Dr. Bargmann has been the director of the primary care medicine residency program at George Washington University Medical Center, where she is involved in all aspects of the program: administration, teaching, recruiting, curriculum, grant writing, and seeing patients.

"The hard part of leaving my Work in Washington is saying goodbye to my patients who have been with me for years," explained Bargmann.

After receiving her bachelor of science degee summa cum laude from the University of Georgia, Dr. Bargmann received a Morehead fellowship for medical school at the University of North Carolina. She completed an internship in internal medicine at SUNY at Buffalo and a residency in internal medicine at George Washington University.

She resides in Nethers wit her husband, Joel Polin who is an attorney.
