A body was found in Shenandoah National Park around noon on Saturday, and it is believed to be that of 27-year-old James Schneider, an Arlington man who had been missing since early September.
A press release from the National Park Service said that the body was found approximately 40 yards off of White Oak Canyon Trail, about 3 1/2 miles down the trail from the Skyline Drive.
An autopsy will be performed and positive identification made by the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Fairfax. However, National Park Service investigators believe the body is that of James S. Schneider. Found at the scene were Mr. Schneider's personal identification and other personal belongings.
