Sumner now has a canine dog, Choco, who rides with him. Choco is a German Shepherd and Sumner says he is used mainly for tracking or building searches.

“Being so rural, you don't get that many calls here as in other places. It’s neat to have him along at night time in Rappahannock — there’s nobody out there. It’s just me and him.”

Moore is a Master Sergeant with the State Police. He has been here sS1 since June of 1973. Unlike t- Knick and Sumner, he worked in Prince William County a year before coming here. He has been here since 1975 and says while others say things haven’t changed, *J he disagrees.

Moore, like Knick and Sumner, also met his wife, Diane, here and they have a daughter. Since he’s been With the department 25 I years he has no plans to transfer either but says he is hoping for a promotion.
