The four members of the 1968 graduating class of Rappahannock County High School with the highest scholastic achievement have been announced by school principal Dennis Wingfield. They are Sandra Foster, Barbara Lillard, Nancy Thornhill and Jeanie Woodard. Mrs. John Hopewell was awarded a silver tray for the English horse championships at the Amissville Horse Show Saturday. Presentations of the awards was handled by Darlene Woodard of Castleton, Miss Rappahannock of 1968. Janet Bay of Falls Church presented a check for $5,000 to Jack M. Midleton board chairman of the Old Dominion Eye Bank which is sponsored by Old Dominion Eye Bank which is sponsored by the Lions Club of Virginia. Shirley Williams a senior at Rappahannock County High School was a special mention award winner in the twenty-first annual Wildlife Essay Contest, for which $5 was presented to her by the Rappahannock Game Warden, Irvin L. Kenyan Jr. The subject of the essay was water pollution.
