The assistant director of the Virginia Board of Education, has informed me the superintendent can do many duties to fill his time; such as driving a school bus, coaching and being principal over all students with the title of superintendent.
Do you realize, and there is no reason why he couldn’t, the current principal of our high school could and has the ability to manage the 980 student system we have. Give him the title of superintendent and let him also be the principal over both schools. Abolish the present system we have and this will still comply with the state’s mandatory position.
The $1,000,000 for transportation, operation and maintenance is unacceptable. Let’s get our cost in line, before our tax rate is $ 1 or more.
I have never cost this county a dime. I have only contributed to various good causes and needs as have many other residents.
In 1969 my farm taxes were $265 and today $8,600, let’s stop wasting these tax dollars.
