•Augustine Golf Club, 76 Monument Ave., Stafford, (540) 720-7374: In its third year of existence, Augustine is fast becoming the favorite of many golfers in the area. Elevated tees, doglegs, and plenty of hazards have golfers making repeat trips to the soft-spike only course. Expect to be challenged. Green fees: $55 weekdays, $65 weekends.
•Bristow Manor, 11507 Valley View Drive, Bristow (just outside of Manassas), (703) 368-3558: One of the ever-growing number of “high-end” public golf courses in the area. The 7,100yard course is only in its fourth season and has overcome any growing pains. The fairways are beautiful, the greens roll true, and the rough is rough.
