In the May 7, 1988 Virginia Gold Cup, Von Csadek carried his young rider Patrick Worrall, 17, to frontrunning victory, a story in the May 12, 1988 Fauquier TimesDemocrat reported. A full crowd of 48,500 pushed into the nearly new Great Meadow race course - established in 1985 as the Gold Cup’s home when Broadview was sold for development.
