church, school and senior citizen nrojects. In Woodville, he spearheaded campaigns to put a steeple on Woodville Baptist Church and to add a fellowship hall. He also organized his church to serve lunch to seniors, many of them formerly isolated in their rural homes.
These luncheons evolved into a push for a senior center in the county, a dream realized last year.
The memorial service at Washington Baptist was more joyful than sorrowful. Mr. Price’s wife of 50 years, Wilhelmina, said she wanted the observance to reflect her husband’s zest for life, spirit of service, and love of bouncy music.
