residents get
a bargain
In recognition of the role Fauquier residents have played since 1922 in creating and supporting the Virginia Gold Cup for charitable community benefit, a special 30 percent discount car pass will be offered to Fauquier County residents for the May 2 event.
The Fauquier resident car pass, discount priced at $40, admits one vehicle and up to six people into the general subscriber area. The pass must be purchased in person with evidence of Fauquier residence at the Virginia Gold Cup Association office at 90 Main Street in Warrenton. No tickets of any kind are sold at the gate on race day.
Since the now annual sellout Gold Cup moved from Broadview in Warrenton to its Great Meadow race course near The Plains in 1985, it has operated to benefit-free yearround use of Great Meadow by Fauquier Youth League Soccer and other nonprofit Fauquier community activities.
