Cemeteries

Bennett reported on research about four cemeteries on Fodderstack Road, and ways to acquire them.

If the town were interested in acquiring title to the two Masonic cemeteries, administrative, court and survey costs would be between $2,000 and $7,000, he estimated.

He added that if the town attempted to acquire the adjoining Oddfellows and Pauper cemeteries, it would be more expensive, since the titles could not clearly established.

Mayor Willis said there was no money allotted in the budget for acquiring the cemeteries, and the council did not take any action.
