Another bad accident occurred a couple years ago when DeLozier’s car was T-boned by another. An ambulance was sent out onto the track to check on him. Although he was okay, incidents such as those concern Cathy, who watches nervously from atop the race car hauler as Dale competes.
“When my daughter walks down that aisle I want her father to give her away,” she says. When Dale’s preparing to race it helps that “I say a little prayer before and during.”
Ever since DeLozier began racing Late Model Stock Cars in 1994, Cathy has prayed for a little bit more time with her husband during racing season. It appears that those prayers have been answered.
