of all cancers may be prevented by what you eat!

Virginia Cooperative Extension has developed a learn-at-home educational newsletter series called “C/O Your Health.” It focuses on encouraging good eating practices to decrease the risk of cancer.

Six issues highlight information related to promoters and protectors of cancer. Some topics include fiber protectors in fruits, vegetables and grains; antioxidant; phytochemicals and good lifetime eating practices.

Each issue features articles on nutrition research facts, health check-ups, family focused activities, and cooking using the food guide pyramid. This nutrition education program will help you select, cook and eat foods to lower your risk of cancer.

The newsletters are provided free of charge. You will receive a pre-survey to evaluate your current nutritional habits before receiving the first newsletter.

The newsletter will be mailed to your home every other week during March, April and May, 1999. A post survey will also be sent. If you are interest in this newsletter, have questions or are interested ip other nutrition and health resources, contact your local Virginia Cooperative Extension Office in Rappahannock at 675-3619. Sign up for the newsletter will be taken until Feb. 22.
