He wants to get back in touch with landowners as well. Last year alone, he gave out 70 turkeys at Thanksgiving. “Another thing I’ve got to do is get around and go see these farmers and the people who have built on 50acre lots. We’ve been foxhunting all our lives, we need to ask for a way through two or three places, just a place for the horses to get through. If we get corridors to get through these housing estates, then we’ve got more territory.”
Big plans
But getting back to the races with a Cockbum-trained (if not -ridden) horse tops the to-do list. He has one in training and is looking for more prospects. “For now, I’d like to ... see how I get on this year with it.
