Billie Joe Strickler, 65, of Broadway died Thursday, Feb. 11 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, Feb. 14 at Mt. Valley United Methodist Church by the Rev. Glen Turner and Pastor Bruce Creswell.
Burial was at the Mt. Valley Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 23, 1933 in Rockingham County and was a daughter of the late John Lewis Sr. and Maggie Eaton Vincie.
Mrs. Strickler was a homemaker.
Surviving are seven daughters, Carolyn Simmons and Joyce Carr Leviness, both of Broadway, Wanda Snead of Washington, Bernice Martinez of El Paso, Texas, Dorina Miller Baker of Luray, Connie Blair of Capon Bridge, W.Va. and Barbara Joe Thomas of Fulks Run; three sons, Carl E. Strickler Jr. and Garland Strickler, both of Broadway and Charles Strickler of New Market; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Anna Bare of Harrisonburg and Ethel Riggleman of Broadway and one brother, Peter Vincie of Redland, Calif.
Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway was in charge of the arrangements.
