Education Advisory Council to meet

The Special Education Advisory Council of Rappahannock County Public Schools will meet in the school library at the elementary school at 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 25. The school psychologist will make a presentation on ability testing. All interested persons are welcome. The Advisory Council consists of parents, teachers and interested community members, and is instrumental in advising the school board about the county’s needs and concerns in the area of special education.

Band Boosters activities

The Rappahannock Band Boosters will meet on Thursday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rappahannock High School auditorium. The public is invited.

The Band Boosters are also selling oranges and grapefruit. To place an order call Sally Havstad at 987-9342.

‘Babe ” to be shown

“Babe” will be shown at The Theatre in Washington on Friday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m. (PG, 91 minutes).

Young Writers ’ Coffee House event set

Rappahannock County High School creative writing students will present the third annual Young Writers’ Coffee House at Ki Theater on Feb. 19 and 20 at 7 p.m. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Tickets available at the RCHS front office or at the door.

(<True Love Waits ” sports rally slated

All area teens are invited to a “True Love Waits” sports rally on Sunday, Feb. 21 at the Washington fire hall from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The event is hosted by Rappahannock’s Friends 2-Mom program and will include music, games, speakers, free food and soft drinks. The evening promises to be fun and entertaining while providing teens with the message that “True Love Waits.” All teens are encouraged to come wearing their favorite sports t-shirt, jersey or cap. Membership dinner, meeting set

Rappahannock Farmers Association will hold their annual meeting and membership dinner on March 6 at 6 p.m. at the Flint Hill fire hall. Membership may be obtained the night of the dinner for only $35. There will be a brief business meeting followed by a guest speaker, Chris Miller from Piedmont Environmental Council. Beekeepers to meet

The Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association will hold its February meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 25 at the Culpeper Cooperative Extension Service building at the comer of Davis Street and South West Street, Culpeper. The program will feature Wyatt Mangum giving a slide presentation on “Queen Cells.” This is an excellent opportunity to learn how to assess what is happening in your colony of bees.
