Castleton resident Grahm Masters pleaded guilty Thursday, Sept. 6, in Rappahannock County Circuit Court to breaking and entering and grand larceny charges stemming from a July 2006 burglary at Rappahannock County High School. An estimated $19,500 worth of music and shop equipment were stolen from the school in the incident, according to testimony from two teachers at the school.
Masters, 25, arrived to the morning trial wearing a sport jacket and a tie. He pleaded not guilty and sat calmly next to his attorney during testimony in which Rappahannock County High School teachers detailed the aftermath of the break-in and a pawn shop employee indicated that Masters sold items stolen from the school at a pawn shop in Prince William County.
After a break for lunch, Masters pleaded guilty to both of the charges he faced.
“We believe it is in his best interest, that if the jury found him guilty they might punish him very severely,”
