And with five teachers — one full time and four part time — for 11 kids, students receive attentive instruction.
“We have an opportunity to do so much more with the students,” Garrison said.
He said that instruction extends beyond academic education, and that a critical part of Belle Meade’s program is to teach responsibility. Part of this is that the students dean up after themselves. The school has no janitors.
“They start learning and developing this sense of responsibility that flows over into other areas of life,” Garrison said. “They bring... what they’ve learned to their world, the world we live in ”
