New starts
We’re early into September and these cooler days
are a welcome relief to the heat of summer. Each
new season gives us a chance to start fresh and be inspired by new ideas and people.
Stop by Fellegatta’s Eatery in Sperryville as longtime resident and photographer, and now chef Ted Fellegatta begins a new venture in fine food, friendship and good feelings.
Susan Hoffinan has opened the doors at the Belle Meade Schoolhouse to a new set of students and teachers. Applications are still being accepted.
National Merit Semi-Finalist A.J. Collins, a junior at Rappahannock County High School, has the inside scoop with the teen scene and is now authoring our Teen Talk column If you haven’t read one, you should. A.J. Is doing a fine job.
Speaking of new writing ventures, Ester Settle and Leah DeLong have teamed up to bring you the news from Flint Hill. The newspaper relies on neighborhood columnists and their unique voices. Their first joint effort is fabulous.
If you haven’t noticed the improvement in our sports section, you should take note. On loan from our sister paper; The Culpeper Times, sports editor Steve Franklin is bringing his own brand of reporting and up close look at the sport scene in Rappahannock. His column, “Call Me CoadT is insightful and often humorous.
Wakefield Country Day School Headmistress Kathleen Grove will be authoring a series of book reviews in the coming weeks. Grove has discovered a plethora of good reads that she hopes will be of interest to Rappahannock readers.
And then there’s Walt Nkklin and his new magazine, "The Piedmont Virginia. ” You’ll recognize many local feces and names in his first issue. This is one of those coffee table items that you won’t want to have missing. It’s also a celebration of the Piedmont region and all that we eqjoy here.
So, lots of new starts to September. Lots of new ways lobe inspired.
