Students from England’s Cambridge University are touring the United States this September with their eighth annual production of a Shakespeare play. This year, “CAST” (Cambridge American Stage Tour) will perform “The Winter’s Tale” in some fourteen U.S.> Venues. On Saturday, September 29, the venue will be the Theatre at Washington, Virginia, where the performance will take place at 8 p.m. This will be CAST’s fourth annual production in “Little” Washington.
CAST’s roots are in Cambridge University’s ADC Theatre -- the oldest student theatre in the U.K. The ADC (Amateur Dramatic Club) Theatre has helped launch the careers of several of Britain’s most renowned actors, for example Emma Thompson, Sir Ian McKlellan, and John Cleese.
“The Winter’s Tale” is a difficult and challenging play, and one that is staged less frequently than the plays which CAST has produced in previous years. It is one of Shakespeare’s late, fantastical plays, and to the Director
