The most you can spend is $65. To arrange this extraordinary deal, drive to the shelter in Amissville and make a reservation for the next spay/neuter trip, October 2nd. Please act now, as van space is limited. Registration deadline is September 25th. Sept. 14: “Building for

Board Members”

“Building Blocks for Board Members’ being presented Friday, Sept. 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Schoolhouse in Sperryville. The program is designed to help both experienced board members and those who might consider joining a board. Sample forms and resource materials will be provided to participants. A networking session, including an opportunity to discuss specific questions with the presenter, will follow the formal program, along with refreshments. The event is hosted by the Rappahannock Nonprofit Center and presented by VANNO (Virginia Network of Nonprofit Organizations), with Alcoa Foundation grant support. Advance registration is required, and there is a modest fee for participation. Ybu can download a registration form at www.vanno.org.

Sept. 15: Reflective Emergency

Response signs for sale

Sharon Komar from the Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Company will be selling 911 Reflective Emergency signs throughout the day at the Laurel Mills Country Store. The cost is $15 and signs can be made while you wait. “If we can’t find you, we can’t help you,’ stressed Komar. The reflective, numbers help emergency vehicles cut down their response time.
