of the current production, it seems “a curious halfsister to "The Tempest’.” Part of the action in “The Winter’s Tale” is set in the realist world of Sicilia; and part of the action is set in the magical world of Bohemia. The Director has sought to contrast the realistic with the magical, by dressing the characters in Sicilia principally in contemporary attire, whereas scenes set in Bohemia have drawn their inspiration from Alice in Wonderland’s dream world. (The audience may come to feel, as Alice herself famously put it, that things become “curiouser and curiouser!”)Tickets for the play at the Theatre on Saturday, September 29 at 8 p.m. are $20 for adults and $5 for students 18 and under. Friday Night at the Flicks

The Rappahannock Association for Arts and the Community (RAAC) will present films at the Theatre twice each month during September, October and November on the first and third Fridays.

The first three films to be scheduled by RAAC are “The Queen” which played on September 7, “Paris, Je t’aime” on September 21, and “La Vie en Rose” on October 5. (Further information available on RAAC’s website: www.raac.org.)
