With no increase to the base salary, the index steps would have a “buy-in” cost of $62,382 or 6Vi percent, according to figures supplied last week by board member Bill Oliver.
Tuesday the board approved adding IV* percent to the current salary total to be distributed according to the new index. This would create actual salary increases ranging from 5-10 percent.
