Mrs. Ida Rose Noakes, 80, of Front Royal, died Friday, March 28,1984, at her residence.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday at the Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. Larry Andrews. Burial was in the Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Mrs. Noakes was bom December 22, 1903, in Rappahannock County, daughter of the late Frank and Lillian Berry Jenkins. She was married to the late Clarence Dudley Noakes and was a member of the Baptist Church in Rappahannock.
Surviving are three sons, Clarence D. Noakes of Front Royal; William Edward Noakes of Huntly and Russell B. Noakes of Florida; eight daughters, Doris Grove, Shirley Vaught, Nancy Laing and Geraldine Lee, all of Front Royal, Mary Ellen Parker of Summerville, S.C., Marie Groninger of Greensboro, N.C., Margaret Mauck of Culpeper and Elsie Kirk 6f Upperville; two sisters, Elizabeth Keates of Front Royal and Annie Kerfoot of Washington, D.C.; 82 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

Frank Thompson, 60, of Front Royal, died Monday, March 26,1984, at Warren Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday at the Turner- Robertshaw Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. Shane G. Fletcher. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Thompson was bom January 6, 1924, at Huntly, son of the late Robert R. and Sarah A. North Thompson. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Virgie Mae Thompson; four sons, Jerry W. Thompson, at home, Charles F. Thompson of Shenandoah Farms, Ronald L. and Gary A. Thompson, both of Front Royal; four daughters, Helen Marks of Annandale, Mrs. John L. Thompson and Mrs. Richard A. Sturdivant, both of Front Royal and Tammy Sue Thompson, at home; seven grandchildren and three step grandchildren.
Also surviving are four brothers, James, Clarence and Francis Thompson, all of Front Royal and Bernard Thompson of Fredericksburg and two sisters, Kathryn Simmons of Hagerstown, Md. and Blanche Miles of Dundock, Md.
