“Where’s the Beef?” is a popular question these days and it can be aptly answered at the 6th annual Virginia Beef Cook-Off. The contest, sponsored by the Virginia Cattlewomen, will be held May 19 at James Madison University in Harrisonburg.
To be eligible, cooks must be 18 years of age or older. Cooks can not be professional food handlers and can not own beef or dairy cattle. Employees of state beef councils or the Beef Industry are ineligible. So, YOU have g grot chance to win.
All you have to do is send your best beef recipe to Beef Cook-Off, Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, P.O. Box 1163, Richmond, VA. 23209, by April 23.
All recipes must contain from one to five pounds of chuck, round, rump, brisket, plate, shank or ground beef in any form.
