sets seen in a long time. It featured cardboard cacti, woodstove and window as well as a wrapping paper wall that was easily rebuilt after a dying gunslinger fell through it.
The lighting, sound and makeup could have stood a more subtle touch. The music was too loud over Gason deBeam’s singing. Sound and light cues were a little abrupt. The make-up was to heavy for the small auditorium and weak lighting at Wakefield.
Sue Ohlinger’s costumes were exactly right, however. Each character’s personality was enhanced by dress. Especially effective was the transformation in Sneaky’s personality as reflected by his change from the dus of a coward to the flashy flamboyant attire of an “imortal.”
The play was great fun. It was co-directed by Pam Lynn and Sue Ohlinger who adapted the script from a play by James L. Rosenberg.
