In the grammar school category, the winners were Robbie Schlegel (first place), Timmy Andrea (second place) and Jeff Dickerson (third place). There was a tie for honorable mention among Elizabeth CHerton, Yvonne Chen and Florian Dengel on one project and Scott Rozie on another.
Judges for the science fair included Dr. Richard C. Macon, chief engineer for the F.B.I.; Dr. Julius Bolvari, a medical officer for the Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation Center for the National Institutes of Mental Health, and Robert J. Ford, a plant manager for Allied Chemical Corporation.
The projects were judged on a basis of science content and the students’ success in fulfilling their stated purposes. The attractiveness of the exhibit also was taken into consideration.
