James Frank Bowling, Sr., 88, of Washington, D.C. and formerly of Rappahannock County, died Thursday, March 22, 1964, at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
Funeral services were conducted on Monday at the Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal by the Rev. Merlin W. Shorb. Burial was in Prospect Hill Cemetery. ?
Mr. Bowling was born November 27, 1900, in Rappahannock County, son of the late George W. and Mattie Clarke Bowling. He was a member of the Flint Hill United Methodist Church and had been president of PurselTs Book Store, Inc. in Washington, D.C. for over 40 years.
Surviving is one great niece, Karen Bowling of Front Royal.
