The two local Democrats for Jackson switched their support to Mondale since they lacked the required number for a caucus. With that change, the allotment of Rappahannock’s four votes at the State Democratic Convention in Norfolk on May 18 broke down as two for Hart, one for Mondale and one uncommitted.
The Hart delegates will be Mary Beth Martin and Cecily Kohler; the Mondale delegate Rachel Grimsley and the uncommitted delegate Canon Johnson. In addition, Diane Bird will go as an alternate for Mondale and James Swindler as an uncommitted alternate.
