Established in February 1982, the Culpeper Memorial Hospital Home Health Agency is filling a need of many homebound patients in the five county area by providing sldlled'care in their homes.
Experiencing remarkable growth since inception, the number of Home Health visits increased 123% in fiscal year 1983.
With the national shift in hospital services from inpatient admissions to alternative services, the Home Health Agency is playing an expanding role in community health care by taking nursing, physical and speech therapy, and aide services . to patients' homes. With individualized home care, many patients avoid hospitalization, and families learn special procedures to care for ill relatives at home.
Directing this program dedicated to realizing the maximum potential of each patient is Vivian Dennis. Having received her RN diploma and her adult nurse practitioner certificate from the University of Virginia and her BSN from Eastern Mennonite University, Dennis focuses on geriatric home care. ' Since the agency is affiliated with Culpeper Memorial Hospital, it offers skilled professionals in each discipline to deliver quality health care to area citizens.
