Others besides the kids will mis Nature’s Foods. As a way of saying goodbye to the store, friends of Nature’s are organizing a series of farewell dinners. Francis and Daphne Hutchinson will play chef on April 7, preparing a Chinese meal, and T and Frank Reynolds will mix up batches of French bread and chili for a set-together before "The Last Waltz,” RAAC’s movie on April 8.
On April 14, Jane and Kevin Weisberger will don the white aprons for a Mexican feast. Phil Drevas and Jody Carbone will take over on April 21 to cook seafood, Italian style. Menu and chefs for the last supper on April 28 will be announced later. Seating for the farewell dinners is limited to 28 so reservations should be made in advance.
Rae Haase has mixed feelings about leaving the business at Washington’s hub. “It’s been a lot of work but it’s been fun, too. I’ve learned a lot and most important, I’ve met so many wonderful people.”
