One of the different programs Mills began last year with much success is a letter-writing campaign to entertainers. The students pick the people they want to write to, and they ask the entertainers for personal items to auction off at the end of the year.
The students earn money, or points, through the year by reading books and making reports so that they can bid on items they want at the auction.
