The library it no longer just using book*, ahe begins. Today, it’a a muftimedia center complete with video tapes, program taping and filmstripa. At a teacher’s request, Mrs. Scott tapes programs right off the air. A recent example: The “short-story" series on WVPT-TV Harrisonburg.
Mrs. Scott says ahe welcomes input from teachers, whether it comes during planning meetings prior to the school year start-up, or during the year when students do research far different classes. Often, faculty requests become the basis for materials Mrs. Scott orders during the school year. She submits selections to Principal Robert Chappell for final approval.
Learning Experience
Being a librarian can be a learning experience, Mrs. Scott says, alluding to a student trim recently needed the name of the philosopher who said, “I think, therefore I am.” Knowing the quote but not its speaker, Mrs. Scott directed the student first to a book of quotations. This chapter in the life of a librarian continues: The bell rang and the student left, bound to resume the search again soon.
