help shoppers make it through the day. The market’s regular stock of dried fruit and nuts, organic beef and veal, and other natural foods products will also be available.
“The support from the community was very heartwarming,” said Lyt Wood, about the market’s first season in operation. He noted that it was quite a successful first year, and that next year should see improved quantity and variety of locally grown produce. The members will be able to plan their plantings and schedules better with this summer’s experience behind them.
The market is a cooperative outlet for the products grown, raised, baked or made by its members, a diverse group of load gardeners, farmers, bakers and artisans. It is also a community-service project, members believe, because the market offers a valuable addition to local residents, and is an at traction for tourists.
