Incorporated into the reading program are life skills like studying classified ads, developing map skills and learning about bills. “We teach them things that they will have to know about to survive," Mills said. The program is worthwhile and the children that have been in it appreciate it afterwards. It’s a service the school provides to try to do what it can.”
