Elsie Roberts

Elsie Christine Roberts, formerly of Washington, Vs. died Saturday, December 8 at the Wisconsin Nursing ,Home hi Washington, D.C, She had been in declining health for the past four and half years.

She was bom December 13, 1921, daughter of the late Charles Henry and Lucy Lawson Roberts. She worked for many years in the govenment, then later with the Social Services department, working with Senior Citizens, a counselor for the Girl Scouts and member of the NAACP.

Ms Roberts is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Ora Barbour of Washington, Mrs. Cora Davis of Washington, D.C. and Mrs. Lillie Worrell of Bronx, New York; one brother, Kedrick Robert# of Richmond; an aunt, Mrs. Maria Starks of Washington; three God-children, John and Gregory Davis of Maryland and Jamea R. Freeman, Jr. of Washington; five nieces; five nephews, grand and great nieces and nephews and host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, December 12 at the First Baptist Church in Washington by the Rev. Wendall Grant. Burial was at Odd Fellow Cemetery in Washington.
