Also on December 3, the Board was given two reports regarding the ecology and hydrogeology of the site and its environs. Through this newspaper, a wealth of information has appeared concerning the size and nature of the potentially impacted community and the economic implications of selecting this site.
The Board has apparently decided to ignore all of this information in favor of continuing on its present course. It would be impossible to convey accurately either our surprise or disappointment at this decision. Too much zeal in a governing body need not cause an embarrassment to the supervisors or the voters who elected them. Failure to consider an abundance of pertinent and available date and the will of the people is worse than an embarrassment to all concerned.
