The hunters and dogs are not the only ones who have fun during a fox hunt according to Brown. “The foxes love it even more than we do,” Brown said. “I’ve seen a fox run by its hole three times when it could have gone in any time, but it kept running for the fun of it.”
Brown is also preparing some of the hounds for foxhound shows this month. At the shows, the hounds are judged on physical aspects such as the tightness of the foot, the length of the back and the curve of the back leg.
The new kennels have large pen areas with concrete floors both inside and outside. “This will make working with the hounds a lot easier and nicer,” Brown said.
