Robert Leroy Bowers, owner of Blue Ridge Guns in Amissville, has been indicted on five felony counts of making false statements to apply for and renew his federal firearms license and his license to deal in explosives. The indictments were returned by a Federal District Court Grand Jury in Roanoke on April 18.
The Grand Jury found that Bowers had made false statements on the license applications from 1981 to 1983 when he answered “no” to a question regarding whether or not he had ever been “convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year....”
