Opportunities For Crafters The Sperry ville Antique Market has openings available for craft persons wishing to participate in its May 4-5 “Country Sampler” Craft Show. Crafters with skills in quilting, craft painting, tinsmithing, herbs, woodcarving, stenciling, loom weaving, pottery, basket weaving, folk art, toy-making, stained glass and glass blowing are invited to join in the craft show’s activities. Sperry ville Ladies Auxiliary Dinner A Country Fried Chicken dinner sponsored by the Sperryville Ladies Auxiliary will be held on Saturday, May 11 at the Sperryville fire hall. In addition to the scrumptious chicken the menu will include a variety of vegetables, desserts, hot rolls, butter, tea and coffee. Carryout service will be from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. and serving time will begin at 5:30. Prices are $6 for adults and $3 for children. Tickets may be purchased in advance from any member or at the door. Annual Meeting Set The annual meeting of the “Friends of the Library” will be held at the Rappahannock Library on Wednesday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m. The main order of business will be the election of directors for the coming year. Everyone is urged to attend.

Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary To Meet The Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary will meet on Monday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. at the fire hall. All members and interested persons are urged to attend.

Benefit Yard And Bake Sale A benefit bake and yard sale will be held on Saturday, May 4 at the home of Shirley Frye across from the Horseshoe ball diamond. Proceeds will benefit the Way land Blue Ridge Association King and Queen Rally contestant Walter Orlando Frye. Homemade pies, cakes, cookies and rolls will be available along with other assorted items for home use. The sale will begin at 8 a. m.

Sponsor Forestry Class The Sperryville Antique Market will sponsor a class: “Forestry Basics For The Rural Country Land Owner”, on Saturday, May 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The fee for this course is $25; student rate is $15.
