Back Bay — Lots of nice crappie showing up, but bass action is still slow. Water levels 15 inches below flood level and high winds have hurt the bass Ashing.
• Buggs Island Lake — Hrappie are bedding. Large citation-si^ crappie being caught frequently from the bank. Cut shad is producing some nice striper off the points of land. Largemouth Ashing is good on spinner baits.
• Occoquan Reservoir — Excellent crappie Ashing. Ken Grifflth of Alexandria caught 80 crappie up to three pounds.
• Saltwater report
We have blues! Blues appeared at the Bay Bridge Tunnel Sunday. Good sized Ash — up to 12 pounds. Blues up to 16 pounds have been caught in the nets at Smith Point.
Flounder at Wachapreague are steadily improving. These are really good Ash—up to 10 pounds! Catches up to 60 per boat are reported. Some flounder at Chincoteague are reported.
Atlantic Mackerel, one-quarter mile off Wachapreague, are said to be the largest anyone can remember.
