Sets 1985 Shows
Wayside Theatre will open its summer season with Neil Simon’s Barefoot in the Park on June 5.
It will be followed by the June 19 opening of The Innocents — a play based on Henry James’ The Turn of the Screw, a scary story of the possession of two young and beautiful children and their governess’ battle with the spirit world.
The week of July 4, Wayside will present Mark Twain, Himself.
The show, which has toured the state for the last five years and is performed by producing director Ed Steele, will introduce new material.
'r The summer musical, opening July id; will be A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, a Stephen Sondheim story of wack slaves, several lechers and a Roman centurion and his army.
July 24 brings Tribute, a comedy about a father and son who discover each other and parts of themselves.
Crimes of the Heart, which opens Aug. 7, is a Pultizer Prize-winning play by Beth Henley, and shows how funny attempted murder can be.
The season ends with Noel Coward’s Private Lives.
