Benefit Auction At Amissville Fire Hall A benefit auction will be held on Saturday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Amissville fire hall. The event is being sponsored by the members of the Amissville Fire Department. Anyone wishing to donate articles or anyone with items that needs to be picked up should call, 937-4108, 9375205, 937-5125 or 937-5282. Farmers and Artisans’ Market There will be a Farmers and Artisans’ Market in Front Royal this summer. Featured will be baked goods, produce, and arts and crafts. For more information, contact the Warren County Extension Office at 635-4549. Modern Dance On Sunday, May 19 at 7 p.m. in the Gay St. Theatre, five modem ■ dance pieces will be performed. They include a duet choreographed by Laura Crowne entitled “The Ground Between Us”, performed by Crowne and Sally Nash; “Expected Arrivals” and “Taking Away”, choreographed by Maureen Day, a Rappahannock resident who is in the dance department at VCU; and two other works by VCU dance majors - “Caged Marbles” and “Intentions of Spring”. The evening is sponsored by the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community, a non-profit, volunteer organization. Admission is $5 (adults), $3 (students/seniors) and $4 (RAAC members). Outings Club Hike The next Wakefield School Outings Club Hike is scheduled for Saturday, May 4 to White Oak Canyon. All interested persons should meet at the parking lot of the Sperryville Emporium from 8:30 to 8:45 a.m. The group will then proceed to the parking area of White Oak Canyon.
